He was born on 5th October 1981, at Gohad district near Gwalior.
His musical heritage comes from a long line of distinguished Sarangi exponents.He is the sixth generation of his family. Sarwar started taalim at the tender age of 9 from grandfather Late Padmsri Ut.Abdul Latif kha sahab and his father Ut.Anwar hussain.
The super ‘taleem’ which he received from Padmashree Ustad Abdul Latif Khan for eleven years is clearly reflected in his thoughtful and virtuosic playing style. His playing embodies the intricate delicacy of his grandfather’s style as well as rare and impressive techniques.
Sarwar is the only Sarangi exponent of this generation, who has confidence of playing the difficult and confusing ‘tappa’ style, which he inherited from his grandfather.
He has performed all over the country in all prestigious conferences.

Carrying forward with his achievements, Sarwar is an A grade artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has received many awards for his outstanding performance in the field of Hindustani instrumental – Sarangi of which some of these include:
• Laxmi Bala Sammaan of All India Radio Bhopal and the title of “Surmani” in 1990.
• Ustad Bismillah Khan Award by Sangeet Nata Academy in 2008.
Sarwar is also a faculty member of
ITC Sangeet Reasearch Academy.
